ISLAND DIARIES: HOW I SAVE THE BIKINI DAYS

After spending almost 2 years of quarantine, this summer is finally the time to take a deep breath, exhaling all the COVID anxiety out and chilling for good!
Apparently, July and August are overcrowded everywhere. All hotels and resorts are full and you can hardly book a flight to popular summer island destinations.

Well, that’s the reason why I took my summer trip so early in June.

After two years of not leaving the town, being up to the sky and flying over the clouds were kind of a relaxing therapy and I can say that joy started at the airport, and not even the hot weather of the southern island could ruin this happiness.

After stepping out of the plane the humidity gently touched my face, but it was too soon to say how the weather went on during the vacation. Hopefully, we booked a hotel near the beach resort where we woke up every morning to gulf sunrise and tropical trees at the beach, while sparrows were cheeping all around.

The other thing that I enjoy on island vacations is the nightlife and delicious food at beach restaurants. Watching the sunset in the pinky sky above the sea while the cool sea breeze gently touches your skin is something that makes every one of us dream about the next summer vacation every time stepping into the plane to get back home.

While it is so hard to ignore the salmon dish or say no to a grilled cheeseburger, especially when travel makes you crave more than usual, we need to be careful about the bloating belly in our bikinis on the following day.

Well, my solution to enjoy my vacation is to deliberately eat a heavier food portion for lunch and cut the dinner portion to half or snack more during the day and order light food for main courses. It is a very smart way to not let the hard work for your summer abbs go, and have a safe bikini day!

Beach vacations may sound fancy until the sun kissed your face!

If you think of spending your vacation on the island, don’t forget to pack not only your sunscreen but all kinds of SPF products, since the sun heat is different on the island, your overall skin needs to be protected, and not rely only on the tanning oil with SPF is the key.

There is a big difference between getting tanned and getting burned!
